Everything this site sends you here for arrives in the same place: access to the repository hm installs from, what it would take to run this, and anything on the pages themselves. There is nothing to sign in to first and nothing to agree to.

The only way a reply gets back to you. Nothing else is sent to it.

02 / WHERE IT GOES

To the host that serves these pages, and then to a person.

These pages are files, and the host that serves them also takes this form. A submission is kept in that host's own record of them and passed to the people who run hm, who are the ones who answer. Nothing in this repository runs to receive it, and no part of hm is listening at this address — there is no application here to listen with.

One field on the form is empty and never shown. A person does not see it and an unattended script fills it in, which is how the host tells the two apart. It is the only thing on this page watching anything, and what it watches is the form rather than you.

03 / WHAT IT IS NOT

No account, and nothing off your machine.

Sending this creates nothing to sign in to. An account is a separate surface on a separate address, and you can have one or not have one without it changing what happens to a message — the two do not meet.

hm runs where you run it, against a folder on your machine that holds the project and its record. None of what is in that folder travels with what you type here: a page of this site has no way to open one, and nothing of hm is running at this address that could be asked.
