Start with the desktop.

hm is an application on your Mac. You ask for work in it, read the plan before anything runs, and watch the work move to done. These three pages take a first session in order: get the application, sign in, and open the folder your organisation's work lives in.

   Install the desktop

   Get hm.app onto an Apple-silicon Mac, past the first-open prompt, and running with the copy of hm it carries inside the bundle.

2. 02

   Sign in and your organisation

   Connect the desktop to your hm account with a code you approve in your browser, see your organisation, and sign out without stopping work.

   Create or join a Works

   Set up the folder that holds your project and its record, from a setup conversation or a short form, and connect it to the board.

Each page is a reading of a file in the product's own repository, and says which file and when it was last checked against it. Those files are where the product is decided; nothing on this site edits them, and where the two ever disagree the file is right.
