PRIVACY / THIS WEBSITE
What this website knows about you.
This notice covers this website: the pages served at hmcortex.com. What an account holds about you is a different question, answered on the surface that holds it and linked below rather than repeated here.
01 / WHAT IS COLLECTED HERE
Nothing, until you type it into the one form.
There is one form on this site — on the contact page — and it is the only thing here that takes anything. It takes what it asks for and nothing beside: what your question is about, your name, an email address, optionally who you are directing work for, and the message itself. It goes to the host that serves these pages and from there to the people who run hm. No copy is kept on this side, because there is nothing on this side that runs.
Sending it reaches no address the next section does not already cover: the form posts to this site's own host rather than to anyone else's. And it creates no account — there is no sign-in here, no profile to belong to, and nothing to buy. These pages set no cookie of their own and carry no identifier that follows you from one to the next.
The pages are files on a static host. Asking a host for a file leaves the ordinary access record any web host keeps — the network address that asked, when, and for what — which belongs to the host rather than to a page, and is not read by anything on this site.
02 / WHAT YOUR BROWSER REACHES
Nothing but this site.
There were two addresses here, both for type: a stylesheet describing the typefaces these pages are set in, and the font files it pointed at. Neither was ours. The two typefaces are now files on this site, served from the same host as the page, so asking for one tells nobody anything the page had not already told them.
No page here loads anything from an address that is not ours.
That is the whole list, and it is not a list kept up to date by hand. The suite reads the stylesheet, the typefaces it names, and every page this site renders, and fails when an address turns up that is not this site's own and not written above.
03 / MEASUREMENT
No page here measures you.
Nothing on these pages measures you.
No analytics script, no pixel, no tag manager, no session recorder, no experiment assignment. Whether this site should measure anything at all has not been decided, and this is the section that would carry the answer: what is measured would be named here, address by address, in the shape the section above it is holding empty.
04 / THE ACCOUNT SERVICE
An account is a different surface.
Signing in happens at account.hmcortex.com, on a different origin and under its own notice. What it keeps is short — an email address, a password it cannot read, the organisation you belong to, and a small allowlist of preferences — and its own page is the canonical statement of that, linked here rather than summarised.
Neither surface can see what you build. hm runs on your machine, against folders on your machine, and what is inside them never travels to either address: no page on this site and no route on that one has any way to ask.

- The account trust pages What an account is, how the services behind it are split, and what none of them can reach.
05 / ASKING
Where a question about this goes.
Anything about these pages goes to the contact page. If you cannot reach it, ask whoever pointed you at this page. Anything about what an account holds — including having it removed — is answered on the notice linked above, which names the address to write to.
